Menu Bar Defaults
it may make more sense for the app to default showing up in the dock and menu. you can easily take it away, but if it isn't showing up in the dock and menu i may not realize that it can do that, or might have trouble finding it, etc.

Remove Inline Markdown Formatting
From a user: When I'm in standard authoring mode, I'm seeing the formatting underneath (hash marks, asterisks, etc) pop up while i'm typing. and once in awhile they'll stick and i need to delete the entry/sentence or formatting and redo them. my main thing here is that if i'm authoring in standard word processing mode, i don't want to see the undercarriage. if i was in markdown format, that makes more sense to see the correlation between what i've typed and what it does, but i don't necessarily want to see ghosty hashtags show up while i'm typing

Local File Only Mode
Maybe add the ability to target symlinked files? Need to think about this more. Would lock it into being a Mac-only app.

When the user types Cmd-K, a pop up will appear allowing them to search even if the sidebar is hidden. Kind of like a mini spotlight.

Hi, I discovered today Smolpad in the Blog of Bernard L. : VVMac. I made some tests and i found Smoldpad great, close to i’m looking for, for n a simple but useful app of notes. 👍 As I often propose to the developers of apps/applications I find great, I propose to you to produce the French version of your app (for my friends who don’t speak English and for the app, to have more visibility… and so more users 😉) and for free, of course. So if you are interested in it, please contact me (I think it is possible through my account here). The best way to produce the translation is to have the EN xliff or string files, in order to be sure to go through all the texts! Please keep me informed! Ange PS: 2 questions Why is it not possible to change the size of the editor ? Why don’t you accept the images in the notes ? (sometimes an image is quicker than many sentences, no?)
